Delivering exceptional quality medical care is paramount at York Hospital. Please feel free to click on any of the links below to find out more information about our quality initiatives.
HCAHP Inpatient Quality Scores (Hospital Compare Data): The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services uses a 27-question “Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems” Survey (HCAHPS) to help healthcare consumers make “apples to apples” comparisons of hospital care from the patient perspective. Survey results show high ratings for York Hospital! To see our scores, visit this link.
York Hospital Outpatient Satisfaction Scores: York Hospital surveys patients in many areas about their experiences and tabulates reports on a monthly basis. Among surveying experiences around waiting, privacy, and pain, we do solicit ratings on overall patient experiences, experiences with staff, and with practitioners as either "exceptional", "satisfactory", or "needs improvement". Approximately 90,000 surveys are sent on a yearly basis and our return rate is about 10%. Visit this link to see the most recent overall scores.
CMS Quality Indicators: CMS has created measures to rate hospitals on the recommended care that an adult should get if being treated for a heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia or having surgery. Click this link and enter the hospitals for which you wish to see comparisons.
Hospital-Acquired Infections: In April, 2011, information on Medicare hospital-acquired conditions (HACs) became publicly available via CMS. York Hospital prides itself on providing excellent patient care, which is exemplified in the stellar quality ratings we receive. With respect to the eight HAC measures, York Hospital continues to excel, however, there is a glaring discrepancy on the report about FALLS that we felt necessary to share with you.
Maine Health Management Coalition: MHMC used a variety of data resources to measure patient experience, safety, and clinical quality for hospitals throughout the state of Maine.
Accreditations: In our desire to provide the highest quality of care, York Hospital seeks accreditations from many professional organizations and academic associations. Click the link above for information on the accreditation status for several York Hospital services.
One of the best ways to measure true care is reading what patients have had to say about the care we have given. See this link for details.
