  • Aids Response to the Seacoast: Offers a variety of support groups for people with HIV and Aids and their families and partners. For more information, please call (603) 433-5377.
  • Al-Anon Support Group for families and friends of alcoholics: Meets Mondays at 7:00 PM and Wednesdays at 7:30 PM at St. George's Episcopal Church in York. For more information, please call (800) 498-1844 or (207)  284-1844; or go to their website at\maineldc.
  • Family Members of Addicts: The Cottage Program - York Hospital's Substance Abuse program - offers a support/educational group for family members of addicts. The group meets Wednesdays from 5:30-7pm. For more information, please call (207) 351-2118.

  • Alcoholics Anonymous: Meets every Saturday at 8:00 PM in York Hospital's Hall House, and on Sundays at 7:30 AM at the Lion's Club, Kittery. For other times and locations nearest you, call 1-800-73-SOBER; York/Saco, ME area: (800) 737-6237, in NH, dial (603) 622-6967.
  • Bereavement Support: Bereavement Support Group meets Tuesdays, 10:30-11:30am at St. George’s Church (407 York Street in York, ME) and is facilitated by a York Hospital Hospice social worker.  To register for this group, please call 207-337-7333.
  • Cancer Support: York Hospital Living Well Cancer Support Group provides emotional support and information for those coping with diagnosis, treatment and recovery from cancer. The group meets the second Monday of the month from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at the Living Well Center library at 127 Long Sands Road, York. For more information: (207) 351-3721.
  • Caregivers Support Group: This group is for anyone caring for another and in need of a little extra support and encouragement. The group meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 1:00 - 2:00PM at the Living Wells Center at 127 Long Sands Road, York. For more information, please call (207) 351-3721.
  • Caring for the Caregiver: Join the experienced team at Huntington Common and other family caregivers to share advice, exchange stories and learn more about additional resources and unique ways to care for your loved one.  Feel free to bring along the person you care for.  The Activity Coordinator will host an activity for them during the meeting.  Light refreshments are served.  Meets the first Wednesday of each month, 10:00am - 11:00am at 3 Huntington Common Drive in Kennebunk, ME.  RSVP to Wendy Scott at 207-985-2810 or

  • Friends of the Heart Support: A support group for anyone with cardiac concerns, an implantable cardiac device, or a cardiac diagnosis to learn and share how it impacts their lives. The group meets the 4th Thursday of the month from 1:00 - 2:00PM in the Ellis Conference Room at York Hospital. For questions, please call 207-475-1167.
  • Haven: Offers services, support and shelter for battered women and their children. Offers ongoing support groups in Portsmouth, Dover, and Salem NH for those who have experienced or are currently experiencing physical or emotional abuse from a partner.   • Gamblers Anonymous: Meets in Hall House at York Hospital, Saturday from 9am to 11am. For more information, please call (207) 363-0856
  • Gam-Anon Support group for families and friends of compulsive gamblers. Meets in the Mulvihill Conference Room in York Hospital, Saturday from 9am to 11am. For more information, please call (207) 363-0856
  • Learning to Live with Loss meets for ten weeks on Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:00 PM, in the Ellis Conference Room, York Hospital. These sessions cycle quarterly in the fall, winter and spring, with offerings for holiday coping which meet during the first three Wednesdays in December.   • MS Self Help Group: Become more informed about MS. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month from 7:00-9:00 PM in York Hospital's Ellis Conference Room. For more information, please call (207) 363-1913.
  • National Alliance for the Mentally Ill: York NAMI Family -York meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Eliot United Methodist Church in Eliot Maine on Route 236. Meetings are open to anyone who has mental illness or any family member, friends, professional or caregivers, who need support with the challenges of mental illness.   • National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Connections Recovery Support: Meets every Tuesday from 1:00pm-2:30pm at Eliot United Methodist Church in Eliot Maine on Route 236. Meetings are for consumers only and are free of charge. This support group provides respect, understanding, encouragement and hope.   • Overeaters Anonymous: Meets every Friday at 10:00 AM in York Hospital's Medical Office Building lower level, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM in the Ellis Conference Room at York Hospital.   • Partners of People with HIV: Support group meets Wednesdays 6-7:30pm at Seacoast Mental Health Center, Sagamore Avenue in Portsmouth, NH.   • Stroke Support Group: York Hospital's Stroke Support Group offers survivors and family members a way to understand the effects of stroke and ways to enrich their lives. We recognize that a stroke affects the whole person and their loved ones. We are happy to offer this group as a forum to share experiences, to gain support for the journey and to become inspired to move forward after stroke.
