We believe birthing is a natural process and are dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, family-centered approach to every birth. We recognize each and every child as a unique individual. We believe that the care of our patients and their families is a partnership. We believe a spirit of kindness and a helping hand combined with expert knowledge and skill make for a better experience. We respect and support individual choices.

For childbearing families, we provide weekly educational sessions on nutrition, fetal growth and development, childbirth preparation, and preparation for parenting. The Pediatric Team provides formal asthma education. In addition, we have fun sessions such as belly-casting and an evening out for future siblings. We believe all children deserve to ride safely in cars, and provide a car-seat fitting service. In addition to traditional childbirth care, we offer complementary therapies such as hypnotherapy. Lactation consultants are available 7 days per week to assist breastfeeding families. Many families have said that our home visiting program is one of the most beneficial aspects of their stay at York Hospital.
