York Hospital's Diabetes Education Team provides excellence in diabetes education. Classes are given with registered nurses and a dietitian, including private sessions with these professionals. During the program, participants are given a Blood Glucose Meter and instructions on how to use it.
There is also a diabetes support group open to all persons having diabetes. The education program is through the A.D.E.F. (Ambulatory Diabetes Education and Follow-up) and is offered in York.
People with diabetes are welcome to keep in close contact with our team of RN Specialists and RD Educator. Their commitment is such that they welcome a long-term relationship and are readily available should problems arise or if the patient or relative has any questions. the Diabetes education program is located at York Hospital's Heart Health Institute in York.
