Surgery
York Hospital's surgery center mixes advanced technology with personalized care in a comfortable, and caring environment. The center is equipped with three surgical suites staffed by a dedicated and highly trained team of specialists that care for patients preoperatively, during surgery and in recovery.

Our center is well-equipped with the latest advances in technology and instrumentation for a wide variety of surgical procedures that include the following specialties: general, vascular and thoracic surgery, eye surgery (ophthalmology), ear nose and throat (otolaryngology), gynecology, orthopedic surgery, and urologic procedures.

Surgeons work with our Anesthesia team consisting of expertly trained Anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists (CRNA's) to work with patients to ease pain and discomfort pre-, during and after surgery. With amenities like private waiting and recovery rooms, warm blankets, room service and staff that are willing to create a comfortable and pleasing atmosphere, York Hospital's surgery center is among the best in the area.

Ambulatory Surgery
The hospital's ambulatory surgery program is designed to return patients home the same day as surgery. The service is primarily for minor procedures such as cyst removal, certain gynecological surgery, some orthopedic procedures and other surgeries that do not require a long hospital stay.

Principal benefits of the program include greater convenience and ability to comfortably return home on the same day. Private recovery rooms are available for patients with comfortable recliners, warm blankets and delicious food. Transportation services are also available.

Special Procedures
A wing of the surgery center is designated for special procedures. Endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and other gastroenterological procedures are performed in a relaxing, soothing and comfortable environment. Experienced nursing staff work closely with our patients and physicians to create an environment of care and comfort in spite of the invasive nature of some of the procedures.

Other procedures and services that are performed here include urology, plastic surgery, pediatrics, ENT, medical procedures, orthopedic procedures, gynecology, pulmonology, infectious disease, and ophthalmology.
