Meet Mikey!

Mikey has been a caregiver with our Patient Supplies team at York Hospital for over fifteen years. With expertise in materials management, Mikey was looking to relocate to Maine with family. He recalled interviewing with the team, and shared that he didn’t make it a mile down the road before the phone rang with an offer. The rest is history. Mikey was a brand new Mainer when he joined YH, and feels that it is one of the best decisions he ever made. While no great fan of cold, snowy weather, Mikey appreciates the warmth of the people around him, both at work and home.

Mikey enjoys the variety in his work, and the challenges he gets to problem-solve on a daily basis. “Work is never boring,” he shares, “I love my job.” With ten years of service to the Marines, it should be no surprise that Mikey has a strong work ethic. Mikey’s goal is to work hard to improve patient experiences, and the experiences of his coworkers when they are in need of medical supplies and equipment. He also finds moments to laugh, and as his colleagues can attest, his laughter is infectious.

Outside of work, you’ll often see Mikey on his beloved Harley Road King. He is part of a Harley club, joining a group of riders socially and for benefit causes. The group has participated in escort rides, children’s book collections and collected food pantry donations. Mikey is also actively involved in his church, and has taught Sunday School to kindergarten-aged students for the past three years. He finds it incredibly rewarding. Mikey also loves spending time with his three daughters and his two grandchildren, ages three months and three years.
