Dementia: What Is Lost . . . and What Is NOT!

York Hospital will present a free community Lunch & Learn, “Dementia: What Is Lost . . . and What Is NOT,” Wednesday, June 22, 10:30–11:30 a.m., at the Berwick Public Library, 103 Old Pine Road, Berwick.

Elizabeth Castillo, MD, PhD, a geriatrician at the York Hospital Center for Older Adults, has extensive experience with inpatient (clinical and residential) and outpatient care. During the program, Dr. Castillo will discuss dementia’s impact on older adults, their family members, and caregivers. She will also share information about York Hospital’s programs for older adult care, including the House Calls program, and supportive services for area seniors. An interactive Q & A session will follow the presentation.

Complimentary boxed lunches and refreshments will be available “to go” when the program concludes. In keeping with York Hospital’s COVID-19 policies, masks should be worn during the presentation, regardless of vaccination status.

About the Center for Older Adults

The York Hospital Center for Older Adults provides a comprehensive outpatient consult service with an interdisciplinary team, which includes medical, nursing, rehab, nutrition, pharmacy and behavioral medicine for our older adult population who have begun to experience functional decline within the past year and/or are beginning to struggle at home. The York Hospital team offers extended services to help older adults who could benefit from a consultation and those who have trouble traveling to their provider’s office due to functional or cognitive issues.
