COVID-19 ADULT BOOSTER INFORMATION

In accordance with expanded eligibility guidelines in Maine (effective November 17, 2021), all adults age 18 and older are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 BOOSTER shot, regardless of underlying medical conditions, given either of the following criteria:

      • You completed the two-dose PFIZER or MODERNA vaccine series at least six months ago, OR
      • You have received the single-dose J&J/JANSSEN vaccine at least two months ago.

Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine to receive as their booster dose. (PLEASE NOTE: York Hospital offers Moderna booster shots but does not offer Pfizer booster shots at this time.) Some people may have a preference for the vaccine type that they originally received and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDC recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots. For additional information, visit the state of Maine’s vaccine booster FAQ page.
