Nineteen years ago, Dr. G.C. from Pittsford, New York, fulfilled a lifelong dream and bought a condo on the coast of Maine. While vacationing there during his first year, Dr. C. came down with what he thought was a bad cold. It turned out to be double pneumonia.

“Dr. Todd Adams saved my life that summer – and he has been my doctor ever since,” said Dr. C.

A true embodiment of York Hospital’s vision of “loving kindness,” Dr. Todd Adams did much more than provide superb medical care, according to Dr. C., who remained in Maine for several weeks of rehab after his family had returned to New York.

“Dr. Adams knew I missed my family so he brought his young daughter to visit with me when he checked on me in rehab. We told stories and laughed. He even arranged for me to spend Thanksgiving that year with another patient who didn’t have plans! I was so well cared for, and that is why I want to make this donation to York Hospital – in celebration of Dr. Todd Adams,” said Dr. C.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. C. wasn’t able to enjoy his cherished few weeks on the Maine coast, but he kept his annual appointment with Dr. Adams. They connected via phone and computer – in what was Dr. C’s first-ever telemedicine visit. “It was excellent!” according to Dr. C., but he hopes to see his family physician, and friend, Todd Adams in person next summer.

Thank YOU, Dr. C., for supporting York Hospital!
