National Hospital Week

Celebrating Hospital Week!

A hospital is more than a place where people go to heal, it is a part of the community that fosters health and represents hope. From providing treatment and comfort to the sick, to welcoming new life into the world, hospitals are central to a healthy and optimistic community. National Hospital Week (NHW), the nation’s largest health care event, is a celebration of the history, technology and dedicated professionals that make our facilities beacons of confidence and care. Dating back to 1921, NHW was suggested by a Chicago magazine editor who hoped a community-wide celebration would alleviate public fears about hospitals. The celebration succeeded in promoting trust and goodwill among the public and spread to facilities across the country.

TO OUR YORK HOSPITAL COMMUNITY—THANK YOU.

Thank you for greeting our patients and visitors with warmth, making them feel welcome and safe from the moment they enter our doors. For using your unending expertise, knowledge and years of experience to care both for our patients and those they love. And mostly, thank you for showing up every day— whether it’s easy or not—and doing all you can to make a difference in our patients’ lives. Whether this means serving great food with a smile, making bill paying easier, chatting while tidying a room… or offering that perfect balance of kindness and medical skill to guide them happily and healthily home—we’re not sure how you do it, but we’re sure happy you do. We thank you, for making a difference.
