If you need answers, York Hospital’s Health Care Help Center has Certified Assisters who are trained to help. They will point people in the right direction, whether their questions are about Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace open enrollment, or other health insurance concerns. Here are a few important things to know:
Open Enrollment for Medicare is October 15 through December 7. During this time, you can change your Medicare plan, and changes will take effect on January 1, 2021. If you are new to Medicare, Southern Maine Agency on Aging (SMAA) offers informative seminars to help people navigate this new insurance territory. SMAA’s schedule of virtual class dates and times can be found by clicking here.
Open Enrollment for Marketplace is November 1 through December 15 every year.
