As part of York Hospital’s Cancer Care Affiliation with Massachusetts General Hospital, we are pleased to introduce Elinor Kurz, MSN, FNP-C, who joined York Oncology and Infusion Care this summer. Elinor was born in Dover, NH and grew up in Sanford, Maine. After graduating from The Waynflete School in Portland, she moved west to Washington where she attended South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia and received an  Associate Degree in Horticulture.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Med from Evergreen State College in Olympia, but decided nursing would be a more affordable way to keep  a focus on medicine and helping make the world a better place. She received an Associate Degree in Nursing from South Puget Sound Community College. Elinor returned to Maine in 2008, and worked at Goodall Hospital for 10 years. She received a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons College, Boston, in 2018. She is BLS and ACLS certifed.

Elinor shares that she is drawn to cancer care because her son is a cancer survivor and she feels she has much to offer this patient population, both medically and empathetically. Elinor, her husband, two children and numerous pets live on a 150-year-old farm in Springvale. When not working, she enjoys baking, gardening, as well as hiking and other outside activities with her family.
