Last Friday we announced that Kittery Walk-In Care would close temporarily on December 5th. This step was taken as part of a plan to maximize York Hospital’s ability to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among patients and caregivers by carefully focusing caregiver efforts in locations that require additional attention. We are implementing the following additional changes at York Hospital in Berwick, effective December 12th, to better care for our community and ensure the safety of our patients and staff while COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses such as influenza are present. York Hospital in Berwick services will be temporarily closed in order to redistribute staff, who possess appropriate and necessary skills, to sites and areas of the organization with the most urgent needs.
During these temporary closures, we encourage Berwick Walk-In, Lab, and Imaging patients to visit any of the following convenient York Hospital sites for Walk-In, Lab, or Imaging care, or contact primary care providers for guidance.

We are only curtailing Kittery Walk-In Care and York Hospital in Berwick services at this time, in response to current and future staffing considerations, as we are confident in our ability to continue outpatient care for these communities at our other walk-in care sites. York Hospital continues to offer all other services, including: emergent care, elective surgeries and special procedures, primary care, home care, specialty practices, and rehab therapy.
