“In challenging times like these, collaboration, generosity and community are needed most.”
~ United Way of York County website

Since 2018, the United Way of York County (UWYC) has been helping York Hospital expand our home meal delivery service to residents of York, Kittery, Eliot, Ogunquit and beyond. Just last year, with support from the UWYC, York Hospital delivered a record number of 4,500 meals to older adults in their homes.

After COVID-19 hit southern Maine, the UWYC increased support to nonprofits with the greatest capacity to provide food and/or shelter to the most vulnerable residents.  York Hospital is grateful to the UWYC for awarding funding to increase our ability to deliver meals to older adults in their homes during the pandemic.

York Hospital Interim CEO and CFO Robin LaBonte added, “York Hospital and the United Way of York County share organizational goals and missions to build stronger communities, meet basic needs, and increase health and well-being for residents of southern Maine. We are incredibly appreciative of this support during this socially and economically challenging time for all.  We will get through this – together – because of our commitment to community and collaboration.”

In addition to the daily specials offered in the York Hospital cafeteria, the hospital has a fleet of volunteer drivers who make daily week-day trips to deliver meals to community members in their homes. Same-day orders should be placed by 9 a.m., Monday through Friday. Home delivery orders can be made by calling 207-351-2368.  Daily Specials can be viewed here:…/dining-daily-specials/
