The Recovery Center at York Hospital is one of eight nonprofit organizations selected to receive support from the Kennebunk Savings Spotlight Fund. The Spotlight Fund focus this year is on substance use disorder prevention and recovery, with a goal of helping effect a long-term impact on those most at
risk. Hospital representatives at the September 27th award presentation are pictured here, from left to right: YH Trustee John Houlihan, Jud Knox, President & CEO, Eric Haram, Recovery Center Consultant, and Sally Keck, Counselor. The Recovery Center was the largest recipient of funding, with a $40,000 award from Kennebunk Savings for help in developing a Recovery Coaching Program.

Studies have shown a marked improvement in treatment results of patients who receive recovery coaching. Our trained, certified coaches will help patients in early recovery, building resiliency by helping them navigate housing issues, employment, healthcare and education, along with parenting skills,
family and social supports. Coaches will guide, mentor and support patients who enter a long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol or other drugs, reducing relapses and motivating patients on to continued recovery.

The York Hospital Recovery Center is the premier seacoast-area program offering outpatient treatment for patients with any
substance use issues – including alcohol, opioids, marijuana – and for those affected by others’ use. The Recovery Center’s
goal is to provide a way out of addiction and is open to anyone in the York Hospital service area, with or without insurance. If
you or a loved one need help, please call (207) 351-2118.
