For the second year running, Healthgrades® has recognized York Hospital among the top 15% of hospitals in the U.S. for Outstanding Patient Experience™. The 2021 award was conferred following Healthgrades’ evaluation of 3,297 hospitals who submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) during 2019.

York Hospital was among 417 hospitals who outperformed their peers to achieve this distinction. The recognition is based on specific patient experience measures and data collected from Healthgrades’ own survey. The questions focused on the patients’ perspectives of the care they received while in the hospital, and ranged from cleanliness and noise levels to provider communication and responsiveness to patients’ needs to medication and post-discharge care instructions. The measures also included whether the patient would recommend the hospital to friends or family.
