June 4, 2022: Ready, Set, Go! The York Hospital 5k Road Race got off to a great start last year!
Join other runners and walkers on Saturday, June 3, at York Hospital’s 5K Walk and Run for Everyone. Proceeds will benefit the Cardiac Care Fund at York Hospital. This family-friendly race features a scenic, 3.1-mile course through York, starting and finishing on the York Hospital campus. The course includes local landmarks such as the Wiggly Bridge and Steedman Woods and offers mile markers, water stops and professional chip-timing.
All registrants will receive a pair of York Hospital 5K road race socks, while special prizes will be presented to the top male and female winners in each division. Healthy snacks and refreshments—fruit, granola bars and water—will be provided to all.
Registration: Children (and parents!) are encouraged to participate in the race, with award categories offered for kids age 10 & under, age 11-13 and age 14-17, along with a special category for walkers. Pre-registration fees are $25 (14 & older), $10 (13 & under), and $50 (families/groups up to five participants). These fees apply to both pre-reg and race-day registration on June 3, 2023.
Race day registration opens at 7 a.m. at York Hospital, and the race begins promptly at 8:30 a.m., rain or shine.
Bib Pick Up: For those who pre-register, bib pick up will be Friday, June 2, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 3, from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., in the Henry Warner Conference Room, lower level of the Henry Warner Building on the hospital campus.
Directions & Parking: There will be very limited parking on the hospital campus. Please use our parking lot on Woodbridge Road (site of the old Fazio’s Restaurant). It is a very short walk over to the hospital campus.
From I-95 take the York Exit #7. Bear right at the lights onto Route 1 South. At next set of lights, take a left onto York St./Route 1-A. Travel 1 mile to the monument in center of York Village. Take a left here onto Long Sands Road. Go .2 mile and take a right onto Woodbridge Road. Parking lot is .2 mile on left.
Virtual Race: York Hospital is excited to celebrate this race in person with community members, but also understands that participating virtually in support of the hospital is simply more convenient for some people, due to location or schedule. A virtual race option is available for those who prefer to run or walk independently, wherever or whenever is best for them. To take part in this year’s race either in person or virtually, please register online at RunSignup today.
