York Hospital is supporting furloughed federal employees during the government shutdown.

Furloughed federal Employees can show their federal employee identification to receive a free meal for themselves and immediate families from our Hospital Dining Room (includes an entrée, beverage and dessert for up to two meals per person, per day).  We are also offering free access to some over the counter (OTC) medications that are medically necessary, but inaccessible due to financial hardship as a result of the shutdown. These medications are available only within the York Hospital Apothecary and are limited to over the counter pain relievers (such as Ibuprofen, Tylenol and aspirin), antacids, allergy medications, and cold relief medicine. Free meals and free OTC medically necessary medications will be available to employees until the shutdown ends.

For more information, please call York Hospital Dining at 207.351.3596 or York Hospital Apothecary at 207.351.2150.  Please be sure to bring your federal employee ID to each visit in order to receive either the meal or the medications.  Meals are available at the York Hospital Dining Room, open daily from 5:30a to 7:30p, and medication is available at the York Hospital Apothecary, open daily from 8a to 8p.  Both services are located within the hospital’s main building located at 5 Loving Kindness Way in York, ME (please enter through the Main entrance of the Hospital).
