We are pleased to report that the first telehealth visit between Sanford Junior High School and York Hospital took place on
Thursday, October 24 at 12:45p. This is not only a first for York Hospital, but it was also the first school-based teleheath visit in the State of Maine.
Special thanks to the Sanford School District, to Sanford school nurse Shawnda Lapointe, RN and to YH NP Rachel Velardi, who provided the visit with the Sanford student. Thanks also to York Hospital’s Jerry Dubois, Dina Dellapasqua, Karen Kautz, Dr. Hulefeld and all who worked hard to make this happen! York Hospital looks forward to building on this relationship and expanding this unique program that allows us to help support the Sanford school district and its students.
