We are thrilled to share the good news that York Hospital welcomed 20 members of the Maine National Guard to our team of caregivers today, Jan. 20. These service men and women will be working side by side with us for the next few weeks, helping to care for our community amid the latest COVID-19 surge. They will perform a variety of functions, including:

      • Screening at our entrances
      • Housekeeping
      • Temporary nurses aid roles
      • Laboratory support for COVID-19 testing
      • Logistical support for the drive-thru COVID-19 testing site on Route 1

We are incredibly grateful to Governor Mills and the Maine National Guard for this critical support. As York Hospital President & CEO Dr. Patrick Taylor noted in his welcoming remarks this morning, “To have such dedicated individuals standing shoulder to shoulder with our caregivers in service to this community is heart-warming and a tremendous boost to morale.”
