We are pleased to announce York Hospital’s Q4 2023 recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Congratulations to Traci Cyr, RN, a member of York Hospital’s Medical-Surgical team. Traci was nominated by a patient, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Villinski, who was under Traci’s expert care following an emergency procedure. In her nomination, Jackie praised Traci’s “amazing qualities” during a time of fear and trepidation for her family.

“I was privileged to have Traci as my nurse. . . . Her communication skills were outstanding. Every time she engaged in a dialogue, she was confident, explained what she was doing and why . . . and was incredibly kind and empathetic. . . . Her overall medical knowledge and knowing what needed to be done was clear and exuded confidence,” wrote Jackie. “She had a nursing student with her that day, and it was wonderful to see how attentive she was to the student nurse and what a great teacher she was.”

“It is abundantly clear to me and my family that Traci is an incredibly gifted nurse and a wonderful human being. You are incredibly fortunate to have her on your team,” summarized Jackie.

We couldn’t agree more. Congratulations, Traci! Thank you for the compassionate, patient-centered care you provide your patients and their families every day.
