In light of yesterday’s tragic events in Lewiston, York Hospital wishes to reassure our communities that the health and welfare of our patients and caregivers are paramount. All York Hospital sites remain open today, with increased security. However, due to the evolving investigation, the following events will not occur today, October 26.

  • Dr. Max Meyer’s “Get a Grip” arthritis lunch & learn at the York Public Library will be rescheduled for a later date to be announced.
  • The Drive-Thru Flu Vaccine Clinic scheduled for this afternoon at the York Walk-In Care location is cancelled. Future Community Flu Clinics are scheduled for November 9 & 10, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

We are sorry for the inconvenience these cancellations may cause, but the safety of our communities comes first.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy. In response to the senseless loss of life, we have reached out to our colleagues at Central Maine Medical Center and Maine Health to offer our support in any way they may find helpful.

Many community members have inquired about donating blood. Please visit www.redcrossblood.org to enter your zip code, and you will then be linked to the most updated list of blood drives, times and locations.

We will continue to provide updates as necessary. Please contact Community Relations, (207) 351-2385 or [email protected] with any questions.
