York Hospital is pleased to welcome five new physicians, across a variety of specialties, to its medical staff this July. Christopher Hasslinger, M.D. will be part of York Hospital’s Emergency Medicine Team, while J. Christian Higgins, M.D. joins Interventional Cardiology.  Neurology Associates of York Hospital welcomes Peter Morin, M.D., Ph.D., and Deborah Surette, M.D. joins York Hospital OB/GYN Surgical & Midwifery Associates. Michael Vinograd, M.D., M.S., FAAP will be providing services in both York and Wells for Pediatric Associates of York Hospital.

 

Dr. Hasslinger earned his medical degree from Brown University’s Alpert Medical School and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine, at Maine Medical Center, in Portland, ME. Additionally, Dr. Hasslinger has been a member of guest faculty at Tufts Medical School, in Boston, MA.

 

Dr. Higgins, practicing cardiology since 1994, comes to York Hospital from Meadows Regional Medical Center, Vidalia, GA, where he was the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.  He earned his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Camden, NJ, completing both his residency in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases fellowship at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont, at the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT.  Dr. Higgins is board certified in vascular interpretation, cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology and internal medicine.  Additionally, he has been both a clinical instructor and assistant professor of medicine at University of Vermont College of Medicine.

 

Dr. Morin, board certified in neurology by the board of psychiatry and neurology, earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and New England Deaconess Hospital. Also, completing a fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Center for Neurological Disease in Molecular Biology of Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Disease, Dr. Morin is an associate professor of  neurology at Boston University School of Medicine, and comes to York Hospital from Bedford VA Hospital, Bedford, MA.

 

Dr. Surette earned her both medical degree and completed a residency in gynecology and obstetrics, from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Farmington, CT.  She has practiced in Alaska, Hawaii and comes to York Hospital currently from Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, NH where she was both an OB/GYN laborist and hospitalist.  Dr. Surette is board certified in obstetrics & gynecology.

 

Dr. Vinograd, board certified in pediatrics, comes to York Hospital from Bridgton Hospital, Bridgton, ME, where he was the Medical Director, Region 3 Primary Care at Central Maine Medical Center. After earning his M.S. in physiology from New York Medical College, Dr. Vinograd earned his medical degree from St. George’s University, School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies.  He completed his residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
