Referrals

In order to be treated at Rheumatology Associates, you should first be referred by your primary care or specialty provider. Our physicians will review your referral request (accompanied by relevant records) to determine the urgency and/or nature of the referral prior to making an appointment. Appropriate referrals would include patients with various forms of arthritis or with systemic rheumatic diseases such as lupus, scleroderma, polymyositis, vasculitis, and others. Our providers also evaluate patients with osteoporosis and offer convenient X-rays in our office.

Clinical trials program

Rheumatology Associates has an active clinical drug trial program that enrolls appropriate patients in trials of new medications still under investigation. This program offers you the opportunity to participate in an experimental trial and receive new medication that may benefit you even before it’s commercially available. Your physician and the nurse clinical trial coordinator at Rheumatology Associates will carefully discuss the details of any study with you.
