York Hospital is pleased to announce that Breanne “Bre” Roderick, BSN, RN, BHCN, breast care nurse navigator, has been honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for the fourth quarter of 2025. Bre was nominated by patient Ally, who shared how Bre supported her during an especially frightening time shortly after giving birth.

“I found a lump in my breast. It was a frightening discovery, and after undergoing imaging and meeting with my doctor, it was determined that further evaluation was necessary,” Ally wrote in her nomination.

“I was in tears, scared and unsure of what lay ahead when Bre walked into the room. From the moment we met, she treated me with such kindness and compassion, exactly what I needed in that vulnerable moment. Her knowledge and professionalism were immediately clear, and she patiently answered all my questions, making sure I felt informed and supported.”

Bre not only provided clinical expertise but also advocated for her patient at every step. During the procedure, she offered both physical and emotional comfort. “She held my hand,” Ally wrote, “ensuring I felt safe and cared for. I’m incredibly thankful for Bre and the exceptional care she provided during such a difficult time.”

Bre’s dedication reflects the very heart of The DAISY Award, an international program that honors nurses who deliver extraordinary, compassionate care. York Hospital is proud to partner with the DAISY Foundation to celebrate nurses like Bre, whose commitment to patient-centered care makes a profound difference in the lives of those they serve.
