York Hospital Volunteer Chase Dolan Receives 2025 Governor’s Service Award

Chase-Dolan-2025-Governors-Volunteer-Award.jpgFor 38 years, the Governor’s Awards for Service and Volunteerism have honored individuals, teams, and programs that exemplify the spirit of service throughout Maine.

York High School senior Chase Dolan was recently named to the Governor’s Youth Roll of Honor for his dedication to volunteerism. Chase logged more than 50 hours of service in 2024 and has contributed over 100 total hours at York Hospital, particularly in the Emergency Department. He was nominated by Kate Ford, York Hospital’s director of volunteers, for his outstanding commitment.

Chase plans to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering, with the long-term goal of attending medical school and specializing in anesthesiology. In his scholarship essay for the Carroll Family and Michael C. Rossiter Scholarship, he described anesthesiology as the ideal intersection of his passions—biology, problem-solving, and helping others—and a path to a meaningful career improving lives.

Congratulations to Chase on this well-deserved recognition.
