York Hospital Volunteer Judith McAllister Honored With York Region Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Award

York Hospital volunteer Judith McAllister has been recognized by the York Region Chamber of Commerce as a 2026 Volunteer Award recipient, honoring more than two decades of service, leadership, and commitment to the York community.

A retired nurse, Judith has volunteered at York Hospital for more than 20 years, welcoming patients and visitors at the hospital's emergency department entrance and helping them navigate their visits with compassion and care. In addition to her volunteer work at the hospital, Judith has served as co-president of the Friends of York Hospital, co-chair of its scholarship committee for more than a decade, and as a member of the York Hospital Board of Trustees.

Beyond the hospital, Judith has also supported numerous community organizations through volunteer and leadership roles, including the York Public Library and civic causes.
